The Little Ones

Are you the proud owner of a brand-new baby? Perhaps you gave birth to a little one a while ago and now it is a toddler walking around getting interested in everything, but mainly things it shouldn’t be touching? Or maybe you’re a dad who’s in dire need of some energy… The link might be of interest. It’s all about babies, the joy of young life and how we need to start teaching our children how to save energy at a young age (which, lets be honest now, is going to prove difficult: the young ones have so MUCH energy that you can forgive them for wasting a bit, can’t you?) Here’s where the article is at: http://www.eniginblog.com/2010/07/13/teaching-how-to-save-energy/ And it’s a good point. Twenty years ago energy saving wasn’t at the forefront of anyone’s mind. Back then we had no idea what the future would bring, and we were more concerned with whether or not we’d have hovercrafts in time for the year 2000 than we were about changing to low energy light-bulbs and saving on our heating bill. Attitudes change and I don’t think we should be too hard on ourselves now for not knowing what a mess we would end up in. It was the same with smoking and before that many other things. But it’s not too late to make a difference – switch off, recycle, buy a greener car like the insight hybrid. What IS important is that we don’t just sit back and forget it now we have the facts, and that we pass on this enthusiasm to our children so that they won’t fail to make a profound difference.
